What is power?

Of course, it is the ability to pass laws, marshal of the armed forces and launch missiles. But it is also the ability to get people to do what you want.

The simplest way to do this is to connect directly with them and this is where the rules have been broken. Not only that, but the official word is now competing on virtually the same terms with rumors and misinformation.

What is clear is that the Kremlin believes that events like the Orange Revolution in Ukraine and the subsequent events were stimulated by Western propaganda. Now they are fighting back

It would be easy to believe and easy to counter if all discontent was really a kind of campaign government.
